Client North East Local Authority - Fostering & Adoption Team Brief To produce a number of 3 to 5 minute long films about individual 'hard to place' children to show at a foster/adoption family recruitment event with the objective of generating interest in each of the children from potential families. Film Production Filming took place over 2 days. Spending up to 3 hours with each child/set of children - getting to know them, their characters, their personalities and taking footage of them that reflected each and every one of them. Filming took place in a variety of settings but mainly their current placement home or a place the children liked to visit. We also took photographs of the children to help in the production of a variety of other information. Editing took place soon after and sound tracks were included in the films to reflect the children. Outcome The films were shown at the event. The fostering and adoption team said that they'd never seen as much interest generated as they'd seen at this event where the films had been shown. One film was used to support an application for the current foster carer of one special needs child with limited life expectancy to adopt the child. The application was successful. Ofsted have also encouraged the production of more films. |
